One of the easiest, and most fun, treats you can make are rice krispy treats. They're simple to put together, pliable to form into anything, and also make great gifts.
We got the idea and recipe from Two Sisters crafting: Monster Eye Balls Rice Krispie Bites. Check out their page for detailed instructions on how they made theirs. We like to play fast and loose, so we just sorta eyeballed and added stuff here and there.
HaBOOween Monster Krispy Treats Recipe
We made 3 batches (green, purple & black). Each batch was made of:
2 Cups of Rice Krispies cereal
2 Cups of fresh mini marshmallows
2 Tbsp of salted butter
We, of course, also added the candy eyeballs and for the black ones, I added
Ghirardelli chocolate chips ('cause that's how I roll).
Simple Steps
Melt the butter on low or med low (don't use high heat or milk fats will burn).
Add marshmallows and stir until you can't see the individual marshmallows.
Add food dye and stir well until coloring is evenly distributed.
Add rice krispies until all of the cereal is coated.
Once all of the cereal is coated, wait for it to cool a bit before handling it.
Form into your monster creations, including edible eyeballs. If the mixture sticks to your fingers, you can add some butter to your digits.
After the monsters have cooled fully, wrap them in an air-tight container (or plastic wrap).
Mommy Black's Special Monster Poop Massacre
It's like an explosion of deliciousness in your mouth! Hee hee!! The secret ingredient is monster poop (AKA Ghirardelli chocolate chips). Add them as you add the cereal. This will ensure that there are little pockets of melted chocolate throughout your treat!
See! They're super easy to make! We wanna see what YOUR creation looks like. Be sure to hashtag #HaBOOween and #LittleBabyBooNursery on your post to show us!!!
Sending ghoulish grins & howling hugs,
Ms Mommy Black
